How to Make Your Own Snowglobe!

 

                                 This the season for shopping, wrapping, cooking, and decorating. However, sometimes we forget that there is much more to the holiday season than buying presents and baking cookies. It's also a time to forge fun new holiday traditions while keeping old ones alive. It's especially important to keep costs low when you're already spending a great deal of money on gifts and decor. Therefore, here is a fun, step-by-step tutorial on how to make your own DIY snowglobes! All you need are some clean, empty jars and a few craft supplies. You don't need to be an expert crafter, either; this project can be completed in under an hour. It's also really great to do with kids - with adult supervision of course! So without further ado, here's how to create your own snowglobe!

                           First things first: you'll need some supplies. You can use jars of any size - which is a great way to upcycle your old stuff! Additionally, you will need craft glue, miniature winter figurines, artificial snow, and medium-sized snowflake stickers. Optional supplies include spraypaint and ribbon to further dress up your jars. Now, onto the steps to create your jar!

          1. Clean out old jars - mason jars, jelly jars, and baby food jars work great and will give you a fun, multi-tiered display. Make sure they are thoroughly dried before you begin crafting.

         2. if using mason jars, make sure to glue the pieces of the lid together with craft or super glue. You don't want the pieces coming apart!

       3. If using spraypaint, you can spray the lids at this point and set aside to dry. Silver spraypaint is especially festive and fun.

      4. Now, reach inside of the jars and stick a snowflake sticker on the inside of the glass. This will create a background for your scene.

      5. Fill jars about 1/8th to 1/4th of the way with your fake snow.

      6. Glue your figurines to the lid; the lid should be facing up so you are working with the flat surface. Let dry according to glue packaging directions.

     7. Once dried, screw the lid back onto the jar. Your figurines will be upside down as you do this. Now, flip the jar over once you've secured the lid and voila - snowglobe!

               8. Repeat the process with differently-sized jars and mix up the usage of your figurines. You can create a winter wonderland that's perfect for mantel decor, window displays, or centerpieces. You can wrap ribbon around the base of the jar to create an even more colorful display. Red and green are optimal for Christmas, while blue and silver are great if you plan to leave up your jars all winter long!

                          There you have it - a simple, inexpensive project that captures the Christmas spirit while taking your decor to the next level.

1. Listen to some new bands:

I am not saying anything against 'The Zepps' cause I know that would cause immediate closure of this article but what I am trying to say is, try some new bands. You would be surprised with the talent out there right now.
2. Fix your guitar:
                 Nothing like taking that old guitar from the addick or under the bed or wherever you had thrown it last and giving it a nice little fix. Get some new strings, fix the intonation, straighten those bent necks and this should be your first step towards recovery.

3. Learn a new technique:
Before you dropped the instrument, you found it impossible to do that 8 finger tap that Van Halen made look easy? Then why not try it again, once you get your groove back and get enough stretching exercises
4. Try some new warm up exercises:
Those 1-2-3-4 exercises were great, but there are a lot of new ideas out there on the net, try it out. A fresh start often involves going back to your basics.
5. Stretch yourself:
                 Stretch yourself to a limit you could not reach earlier. If you could alternate pick 4/4 @ 90 bpm, why not try 120 bpm or a 8/4. Keep stretching yourself, the worst thing that could happen is you would get back to your old self.
6. Show off:
                        It's not the 90s anymore, we got YouTube! and showing off your re-invented talent just got easier, so go ahead and upload a video of you shredding away and share it with your friends, who knows it might even go viral like that kid who played cannon
7. Never Say 'Die':
                    Getting back after a few years is never easy but give it your best and remember the commitment you gave to the instrument when you first started. Spend some hours with the guitar and ensure that you keep the fire going.
