The Ghosts and Ghost Stories of India

India is a land of love, culture and mysticism. The land has had one of the most diverse historical portfolio dating back centuries. There were the Maharajas, the various wars and rebels, the reformations and the consequences. For ages, foreigners have been eyeing this land for one greed or the other.
It is a well known fact that a long stretch of history always brings along with itself a horde of myths & paranormal tales with itself - and India is no exception. For ages, this land has been an abode to endless myths and legends. In fact, it would be interesting to note that India has its own family tree of supernatural creatures. And no, I am not talking about next door apparitions & dream sequences. Stories which rise here actually run through the blood for generations. Well well well - if I tell you everything, then I am letting away everything. Go through the Internet and I am sure you will find endless resources helping you understand the true aura of Indian supernatural happenings. These legends go way beyond spooks and exorcisms - the specters itself are considered existent owing to prevailing emotions - anger, love, fear and so on. No specter has found to pounce on random victims - there has always been a specified class of victims associated with every Indian ghost.
It doesn't matter whether you are a believer or an atheist - Indian legends have always been looked upon as a fascination as well as a potential research subject. Nevertheless, as commoners, we should at least go through these legends, enjoy the chill and move on...
